A Keithley DAQ, new, for $720???
« on: February 16, 2025, 03:53:20 pm »
Am I reading this wrong or is this an amazing deal?

https://www.tequipment.net/Keithley/DAQ6510/7700/Benchtop-Multimeter/?b=y&v=7796

It's almost the price of a Rigol multimeter but it's 6.5 digits and oh, a freaking DAQ thrown in.

Probably a mistake, that price is just for scan card on its own.

Someone may get lucky.

The list price is $770, so it’s not much of a deal.
The same page shows the actual system for $2505.80.
Proofreading is a lost art.

If it were Amazon I'd say go for it, but:

1. Whatever it is, they don't have it in stock, so it could be months before it ships (but they will probably charge your card right away, so when you get it, it might be too late for a chargeback).

2. Since it's Tequipment, when you get the wrong item, it's certain to be a hassle to return it.

Indeed. But the page is listing the combination of the $2680 meter and $821 card for $719.95. Keithley DAQ6510/7700 is a specific model that includes both the DAQ and the card, and retails for ~$3400. Proofreading the page will also note the attached screenshot from it, which states that both the meter and card are included.

Anybody willing to take the risk might get lucky, but as stated, it's Tequipment, and they're F'ing terrible.

Alright, so 2 people posted issues with Tequipment.  Can I ask what the problem is?  All of my "new" purchases have been made from Tequipment for bench top equipment. I have thought about purchasing from Saelig, but you have to respond to the thread to get the promo code, lol.  You can search the discount code for Tequipment.

Regardless, is there a reason I should change the distributer I get my equipment from?

Yep because the code is expressly for EEVblog members only.
Like or lump it, just ask for the EEVblog members Saelig 6% discount code which in the several years I've had it has never changed.

Share it publicly and it will get changed.  :horse:

They seem to find a different way to mess up each order, but basically you can't trust their in stock status or delivery dates, they can't answer product questions, and the customer service people are clueless.

Only if you think you might need customer service.

The price was corrected, and now the page says $3216.40.

Name a country? Yes, USA is one of those countries. Some states have even stricter consumer protection laws.

Do you have a citation for this?  The web pages I found say the opposite.

It really depends on the state, and how stubborn you are. Each state has their own rules, and some are more strict than others. In Massachusetts we have "Pricing Laws." Other states have their own variations, try searching different state rules, as retail is mostly under state law.

Tequipment probably has a disclaimer somewhere saying they go by NJ law since that's where they are.

I don't think that applies to Internet sales.

Internet sales are still retail sales. The only question is if you follow the laws of the seller's or customer's state. Usually, the store will have a disclaimer somewhere stating they follow the rules of their state.
