Rigol MSO7034 vs MSO5354 price
« on: December 05, 2023, 07:59:15 pm »
I'm trying to buy an oscilloscope and narrowed it down to the MSO7034 and MSO5354. The 5354 is $1,999 USD and the 7034 is $5,099. Both are the 350MHz BW version. I don't know why the price difference is so large. The 7034 has a bigger screen and a few more features but I can't believe that alone makes it more that 2x the price of the 5354. Most of the specs between the two are identical. I don't care about a bigger screen since I'm going to connect external monitor anyways. So I can't justify spending so much on the 7034. Heck, I can buy two 5354 and still have money left over for more equipment.

Does anyone know why the 7034 is so much expensive? I'm just asking out of curiosity.

Thanks!

A few things are already different.
More memory, more sample rate, higher DC-gain accuracy, higher timebase accuracy, larger screen, 50 ohm inputs, connection for active probe...
Whether this is worth 3000$ more, I cannot judge.
But how did you come up with this older scope series from rigol?
If it doesn't have to be MSO, but has to stay rigol, I would rather get a DHO4204 and hack it to 800Mhz.
