The list price of the 1GHz MSO8000 is lower than that of the 500MHz MSO7000!? That is somewhat surprising.
OK, right now the 7000 series is discounted, so you would get the 500MHz and all the options when buying the MSO7034 for slightly below 8k, but still.
They should definitely drop the 7000 series prices anyway since they are ridiculous.
Anyway, with the full optioned 1GHz RTM3000 being sold for less than the barenaked 1GHz MSO8104, I wonder if these will sell like hot cakes.
OK, the very likely hackability and the sample rate are somewhat tempting, but 8k6€ is too much for the typical hobbyist and in an industrial environment it's hard to imagine that someone would choose the MSO8000 over an RTM3000.
Still great to finally see an affordable 2GHz option. I sure hope that 1GHz scopes will be available for ~5k€ in the midterm.
