Title: Rigol oscilloscope DS1000Z series: software options
Post by: 84750Erik on December 02, 2018, 07:17:47 am
A thread from last year (https://www.eevblog.com/forum/testgear/rigol-ds1000z-now-comes-unlocked/ (https://www.eevblog.com/forum/testgear/rigol-ds1000z-now-comes-unlocked/) was missed by me, sorry. What I would like to know is:
1. How usefull are these options, and for what purposes:
   a. SD-DS1000Z Serial Decoder
   b. AT-DS1000Z Advanced Trigger
   c. MEM-DS1000Z Memory Option
   d. REC-DS1000Z Record-Module
2. My DS1054Z is hacked to 100MHz and does this well. How will the installation of these options affect or disaffect his hack?

Thanks,
Erik

That "hack" is just another option. They are independent from each other. Memory is the most useful one for me personally. But it does not hurt to unlock them all. Advanced trigger is useful too.

It won't make any difference, you'll just get more menu entries and more memory.
