Rigol RSA3000 series input DC block?
(1/1)
bayjelly:
I am a bit unsure about the input protection of the datasheet for the Rigol RSA3000 spectrum analyzer series.

Page 7 shows this:

(I don't know why attachimg doesn't work, just look at the first image below.)

So far so good, there seems to be a DC block on the input already. Indeed this thing starts at 9kHz.

But right under that there's this:

Okay, so if I read that right, the acceptable power below 10MHz goes significantly lower. But this looks to be about 7 dBm. Yet 50V into 5dB are already 47dBm. I guess this means that you can have a 50V DC offset, but the signal riding on top of it has to have a very small swing at low frequencies?

But then, let's say, a "slow" 5V square wave (with no further DC offset, 27dBm) will kill it already? But a very slow one will not, since it's effectively changing the DC offset? Seems like the line should be going up again on the graph, going left of the 9kHz point that is the first one plotted? Bit confused by this.
