R&S RTM 1054 Reparing
(1/1)
pcbcrew:
Hi engineers.
I found some faulty RTM1054 oscilloscopes in second-hand market.
As these faulty machine prices are affordable for me, I'm thinking to buy one and try to repair for my own use.
The first one I found is having NVM error.
Initialization of non-volatile memory failed.
Is this something that can be fixed by replacing NVMe chip?
I checked pricing of repair service of Rhode and Schwarz, but it was too much for me.
Here are the screenshots of error message from the seller.

Here's another RTM1054 with different error message.
It can show waveforms behind the error message popup.
But it automatically goes to power-off in ~10 minutes.
Will this machine easier to repair than the first one?
nctnico:
If it has a fan, see if the fan is running and whether it has a tacho signal. It is not uncommon for test equipment to shut off automatically if the fan isn't running (or the tacho signal is missing).
