50 Ohm termination with active probe support, 500uV/div setting, I2S/etc decoding, a bunch of other obscure decoding formats, power analysis.
Adjustable bandwidth limits (the RTB can only do 20MHz, the RTM up to 20/100/200/350/500).
More acquisition modes (envelope/average + high res).
More trigger options (runt, rise/fall time, multi-channel trigger)
Storing failed mask testing segments.
Low/high pass in math.
Spectrogram option.

E:
significantly less blind time in segmented more, 200ns on the RTM vs 2.5us on the RTB

The 50ohm termination was in my mind given I'm a radio amateur.
Wasn't aware of the 'multi-channel trigger'

Either RTM3k or RTB2k my advice : don't bother the individual software options, go for the PK1 bundle instead.
The only 3 options that matters and you can choose from are : MSO (B1), a bandwith upgrade, PK1 bundle.

I just wanted to thank Rich for being a great R&S ambassador - I think his presence in the Forum helps elevate R&S almost to Keysight Level (and sometimes even above)

So Rich - thanks for being there for me (and everybody else I hope) - got my K36 license without issue.

Please feel free to bring this appreciation letter to your bonus/annual performance talks. *G*

Thanks luzotug.  The PK1 and MSO were also the only options I was considering (bandwidth upgrade when needed).

My son is studying Electronics at Uni, so I thought I'd give him a say (v.small) in the choice.  RTB2k, RTM3k or Rigol 5000.   The answer was very predictable....he has expensive taste!  ::)

Rich,
With the newer RTO firmware, is there a reason ASCII has disappeared from the protocol decode display formats? ISTR it was there on 3.70, but 4.15 and 4.20 don't have it. However, it is shown in the SCPI reference as an available option.

Hi gsocker - I'm actually without my RTO right now, but I'll see what I can find out from Munich.

Hi gsocker - talked with Munich this morning and this will be fixed in a future release.

Hi!

I'm shopping for used RTO-1000s and one factor I need to price in is RTO-B10 (GPIB) -> RTO-B1 (MSO) conversion. It appears that these are swappable modules that occupy a slot on the back. My understanding is that these options can still be purchased for the RTO-1k series until 2021, but I filled out [this form](https://www.rohde-schwarz.com/us/product/sw_rtx-b1-productstartpage_63493-502030.html) early last week and didn't receive a reply. Is there another place I should look?

Thanks,
Jon

EDIT: Would you happen to know what the port is next to the GPIB (see attached)? It doesn't look like a MSO pod port -- is it some kind of mini GPIB? I didn't know GPIB came in a mini size. Adorable  ;D

Hi! Is there a way to configure a RTO1024 that occasionally warns about overheated ADCs for a slightly more aggressive fan policy? The fans are barely spinning even though I keep getting ADC temperature warnings (110 degrees C).

Thanks,
Jon

Hi Rich and other R&S Oscilloscope gurus

Is there a way I could write short measurement applications for my RT01000-series oscilloscope and run them from the scope "User Apps" window? Using the remote commands would be perfect, but I would prefer not using a separate computer (via GPIB or LAN) but run the apps directly from the RTO itself.

BR, Jackob

Rich,

I am looking for the 100 MHz to 200 MHz bandwidth upgrade for my Rohde & Schwarz HMO1212 Oscilloscope.
It is called "Voucher-Code R&SHV312".

I can't find it listed anywhere, not even on the Rohde & Schwarz website.

Can you help me find it, and the cost?

Thanks,
Gary

Probably you do not borrow scopes, like RTE1000, because I just found that RTE1024 full opt. cost more then 60.-000$ (something about 200.000PLN in Poland. But i have plan for buissnes, if it will be able to cope with my epectations, I can get it for leasing for e.g. but only after having a chance to test it brochures and videos is too small for that cost which user can afford.

Hi,

Is there a way of having bus decode on math on an RTA4004?  Example use case is decoding RS-422 with varying common mode, using CH1 - CH2 for example.  The math channels don't appear in the UART bus config menu.

FYI, using the MXO4 scope FRA function and also the remote desktop view in a new video:

Nice informative Video as usual :-+

Like the use of the FRA/Bode Plot feature to show the CMRR vs. Frequency, and some think these DSO FRA/Bode functions are useless ;)
