Rohde & Schwarz SME03 Service Manual

I would appreciate anyone giving me advise on how to obtain a service manual for a  Rohde & Schwarz SME03.

I have a Rohde & Schwarz SME03. It is a RF signal generator which covers 5Kc to 3Gigc. However, the screen went dark as if the contrast control is malfunctioning. I want to repair the unit, but I am having difficulty obtaining a service manual. I have a copy of the operating manual, but it doesn't have one PCB schematic, or theory of operation in it. I contacted Kimberly.Scott@rsa.rohde-schwarz.com in customer service. Kimberly stated that they don't have a service manual. I don't have confidence in Kimberly's response.

Thanks for the tip on the "repair" section of the forum. I looks at the URL, but I only saw a two page discription of the SME03.

Have a good look at KO4BB's Manuals Repository, they have a good amout of R&S manuals.
Note the SMT manual with SME in brackets MIGHT be the one you are looking for.

I think you got it. I am not sure what the difference is between the SME and the SMT, but they seem to be vary similar.

Hello:

From R&S you will not get a valid answer, their policies require that if you want something you have to pay yes or yes.
It is a pity that a brand like this is still immersed in strange policies that affect the poor users of R&S devices.
