RS-Pro IDM-8341 Benchtop multimeter excel addin
« on: December 30, 2024, 10:11:29 pm »
Hi

I was trying to use RS Pro IDM-8341 to log some information on an excel.
And to do i found there is an add-on for excel and drivers that go with it but all i can online are for GDM-8341. I changed drivers to work for IDM but excel add-in is difficult to change.

Just wondering do anyone has drivers for IDM-8341 and maybe excel Add-in. (I have emailed RSPRO and gwtech as well but haven't received an response in last couple of days)

Consider using a Python script or TestController (your dmm not yet supported), both of which would require some effort on your part but folks here would likely help with specific questions.

Short term solution, log it to a USB stick and then open the data files in Excel. Looks like it supports CSV files which are easy to work with.

In the long term, find a program you would like to use to control the meter and go from there. I am using one connected to a Rasberry Pi and using Jupyter Notebooks to do the clever stuff.

So everyone is clear, Calibration = Taking Measurement against a known source, Verification = Checking Calibration against Specification, Adjustment = Adjusting the unit to be within specifications.
