Dragged the old DFM out of the garage today and connected it to the brand new Rigol function generator. I last calibrated this DFM in 1993 using the 15625Hz tv line timebase multiplied by 64 with a 4046 PLL to make 1MHz. Got it dead on and left it for an hour to be sure. The first reading I got at power up showed only 0.5Hz low then finally settled down to 1Hz high. Picture was taken at the 2 hour mark. I thought that was pretty good for a cheap ass DFM that has never particularly been fussed over. Or maybe the function generator is wrong. Can't be sure. :scared:
