Title: SainSmart DDS120 Repair?
Post by: NotANewbie on December 17, 2014, 06:59:38 pm
Despite warnings I bought this thing, and it worked fine until it stopped working.
It looks like the issue is it is not isolated from the USB power ground, which is connected to the AC ground,
and so is my soldering iron, so when I touched the soldering iron to some charged caps, it blew up the device.
It now does not work.  The computer recognizes it, the square wave test works, but the software complains.

So should I just throw it in the trash can?   Or possible can one replace the USB interface chip on it to fix it?
