Hi,
We have borrowed a Schaffner BEST  mains transient tester.

https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=&ved=2ahUKEwiWmev9p7-HAxXSQkEAHbkPOvcQFnoECBQQAQ&url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.testequipmenthq.com%2Fdatasheets%2FSCHAFFNER-BEST%2520EMC-Datasheet.pdf&usg=AOvVaw2xiW76rO8RXjPLXeteAcjW&opi=89978449

Do you know a youtube video for it?
We cant find it on their website

We wish to test our mains product.

FFS...

Learn to use google to find datasheets/manuals.

Learn to use the search bar on the youtube website.

If you are so incompetent that you cannot do that, then are you sufficiently competent to design mains-voltage high-power devices like SMPSs?

Second best: learn how to ask questions that people will want to answer. Caution: it may be difficult for you because it requires thinking before emitting, and requires a little work on your part.

If you can't manage that, ask the other person you refer to when you use "we".
There are lies, damned lies, statistics - and ADC/DAC specs.
Glider pilot's aphorism: "there is no substitute for span". Retort: "There is a substitute: skill+imagination. But you can buy span".

Thanks though i have checked and theres no youtube and no online user manual for this kit.
Schaffner dont even feature it on their website any more....and it doesnt work with an RCD based supply...as we found out.

We have borrowed a Schaffner BEST  mains transient tester.

You may want to borrow the manuals and WinBest software too.  Also, you may want to consider hiring the people that own it for a few hours of training.

Thanks , We borrowed it but they wont help us.
They gave us the paper manual but many pages are missing.

The kit doesnt  have the "cable coupler" with it, so we have to make one..but without the manual, we cant make it.
This kit equivalent would cost £150/week to hire...guessing this is why all the online manuals have been "disappeared".

For burst testing, we have one page,  which shows a voltage going up to peak in 5ns,  then back down in 50ns...thats ridiculous...the cct stray L wouldnt allow that.
But the following pages are missing.

The manual quotes EN50082...but this is defunct now.

Thanks, it gives Burst transients of several kV if you want.
It couples the transient to either L, N or E, or L&E, or L&N&E or L&E, whatever you want........wouldnt a transient coupled
to each of L, N & E be "no transient at  all"?

Several kV is common for burst and surge along with a fair bit of current.

Transients are one configuration at a time, not all at once.   Auto switching between the combinations.  I take it this is new to you.   You may want to consult with a test lab for a day.  You may even want to consider using them to certify your product until you have a better understanding of what needs to be done.   Not to mention they will have the generators for 50/60Hz, coupling networks, software.....

It's been a long time since I have rented lab time, so I would just check around for costs.

Forgot to add, some generators will also switch from burst to surge.  Basically, you could automate the entire run if you have a way to detect faults.
