--- Quote from: edit ---Functionality I need, CH.1 to burst with X delay @ Y frequency with Z cycles/Burst period CH.2 to burst with A delay @ B frequency with C cycles/Burst period Both channels must trigger from the same external/manual trigger --- End quote --- --- Quote from: Update --- Using the internal trigger it is possible to get very close to doing what I need this machine to do, however it is not optimal for my application as I need to be able to trigger both channels from external/manual. For now, here's how to do it. Set all the parameters as stated above in the edit quote - CH.1(A,B,C) & CH.2(X,Y,Z) Set burst period to something long, say several seconds. Both channels will trigger after some parameter is changed. If using 10Vpp on a particular channel, change it to 9.90Vpp and the unit will trigger. Alternatively this can be done by changing the frequency as well. I also spoke with someone at Siglent, and they said they were working on it. They even asked if I was from eeVBlog....wow. Awesome! --- End quote --- I've looked at the manual for this signal generator and can't seem to find how it is possible to trigger CH.1 & CH.2 at the same time. I set both channels to manual, however only the select channel will burst when hitting the trigger button. What's most important is that I am able to trigger both of these channels at the same time from an external trigger, however I can only select one channel to be externally triggered. Is there some sort of software update which allows this functionality or am I missing something? I would also like to be able to eventually send a software trigger through LabVIEW to be able to trigger both of these channels at the same time. |

Latest manual: http://www.siglentamerica.com/USA_website_2014/Documents/UserManual/SDG2000X_UserManual_UM0202X-E01C.pdf P 88 SDG2000X User Manual 2.13 To Set Utility Function CH Copy Coupling: Set the track, channel coupling or channel copy function. So Channel coupling (copy) with Ext trigger should work, does it not? |

Yes, and thank you, however I should have been more clear. I was able to get both channels to output at the same time from the manual trigger by using the channel track function, however I want to be able to pulse two different frequencies on separate channels at the same time. Using the track function I was unable to do this. |

I starting playing around with the suggestion and I'm not sure if gating is going to meet my requirements. By sending a gated pulse to the external trigger, both channels will burst at the same time for the same length of time. What I need is the following, CH.1 to burst with X delay @ Y frequency with Z cycles/Burst period CH.2 to burst with A delay @ B frequency with C cycles/Burst period It would be nice if could simply set up the parameters for each channel and trigger them off the event of rising edge or a manual trigger. Possibly a software trigger could do this or this could be programmed through SCIP commands? |
