STEMI 2000-C microscope
« on: March 07, 2022, 04:28:43 pm »
I know this is optical, can anyone answer this:

2000-C has a port for the camera, but it steals one of the eye pieces. The 2000CS is a full Trinocular, any chances to find this 50/50 mirror and upgrade it ? or is it a totally different beast ?

I have a back lit stand with 6.5x to 50x (eye piece 10X)

This attached drawing makes me tend toward "different", but unfortunately I do not know Zeiss microscopes.

I am not clear on what you mean by "steals" an eyepiece.  One usually uses an x0.5 lens or so on that port.  That adapter will come with a tube to fit the port and your camera.  Or get a lens and use PVC tubing for making an adapter.

To be sure we are talking about the same thing, I have attached a picture.  Hope it's correct.

My understanding of "steals" was that the photo tube steals the image (all the light) that normally goes to an eyepiece, and sends it to the camera, so that that eyepiece goes dark.
