SDS1000X Sample Memory
« on: March 01, 2021, 12:05:11 pm »
I've seen one of Dave's video comments which said that the memory sample for 1104x-e is not equivalent with the ones from 1202/1204x-e, even though you can hack the bandwith (attached screenshot).
I've searched the forum for this topic but didn't find anything about it.
Do you guys know anything about this?

The facts are:
SDS1202X-E has one 1 GSa/s ADC with 14 Mpts of memory support. $379
SDS1104/1204X-E has two 1 GSa/s ADC's each with 14 Mpts of memory support. $499- 759

The new SDS1104X-U has one 1 GSa/s ADC with 14 Mpts of memory support. $399

While all 4 models offer almost identical basic capabilities there are differences in the feature set. RTFM  ;)

:bullshit:

SDS1000X have been discontinued, and although they had an 8" display and 50 Ohm inputs they cannot compete against the X-E or the X-U for that matter in terms of performance.

it seems that comment is for 1104x-e vs 1204x-e only. have you seen the attached screenshot to the first post?

Yes well I hoped the clue was in my first reply.
X models were only 2ch and with 14 Mpts, SDS1202X-E is still only 2ch and also with 14 Mpts whereas SDS1104X-E and SDS1204X-E are both the same HW and have 2x 14 Mpts.

In practice this means we can use all 4 channels and have the same memory available to each channel as the 2ch models provide.
