Seeking scope/probes recommendations
« on: May 23, 2023, 07:56:43 pm »

Can anyone recommend the least expensive 4-channel scope/probe sets that can provide accurate/reliable real-time analysis of IGBT/MOSFET switching/conduction losses for switching frequency up to 30KHz with AC mains voltages and current up to 30Arms?

Any help would be appreciated.

Is this analysis to be done in situ on a prototype equipment design that will be handling AC mains?  Or do you want to characterise the devices when switching the voltage levels and currents you mention?

It's for a live dev system.

Siglent offer such for their 2000X HD series however not cheap and it includes PA license which of course is useless if you don't have one of these models.

Thanks.  At least it's a reference point.

But not much of one as it covers nearly bases for PA which is probably far more than than normal needs.

Are you starting from a clean sheet and need all of the above package ?
What exactly would be your requirements ?

Don't need everything in the package.  The main requirement is to accurately measure switching and conduction losses in real time to evaluate different driver and IGBT/MOSFET devices/configs in a power converter.  So, channel de-skew support is a minimum requirement.
