Yesterday I chained all my outputs, wasn't aware that port 2 and 3 share the same ground |O.
(Was powering one of those cheap DDS Function Generator from Ebay +12 -12 and 5v)
Bottom line, I shorted port 2 to ground. it was connected like that for few seconds.
I did not have the programmable OC and OV on.
Nothing really happen, I saw the display of port 2 all goes to zero.
I disconnected that, everything seems to work like before.
My question is, is it possible I damaged anything ? or did it go to "protection mode" ? how can you tell ?
thanks

You are fine.

that's what I wanted to hear :-+

Any lab power supply that isn't shite can be shorted continuously.

Just shorting outputs is fine. Do not apply reverse voltage or high voltage to inputs though - such experiment can require a significant repair. See https://www.eevblog.com/forum/testgear/rigol-dp832-smoked-channel-1/ (https://www.eevblog.com/forum/testgear/rigol-dp832-smoked-channel-1/)

Yeah, good to keep in mind. I stand by my declaration that it's a faulty, cheapass design though - a fuse and a crowbar cost almost nothing compared to all that metal in there.
