Siglent 1032X and EasyWaveX: Odd Behavior
« on: November 21, 2024, 06:19:27 am »
We recently acquired a new Siglent 1032X. Still learning to use it, and so far we are pleased. One oddity has manifested, however:

A custom waveform exported from EasyWaveX to the 1032X is seemingly displayed incorrectly (not sure which one is malfunctioning.)

I’m posting some screenshots, but a short explanation may be helpful, as follows. In the two screenshots of EasyWaveX, you’ll note that although the numerical X,Y coordinates of the two waveforms are identical, in one case the X axis is at the bottom of the display while the other is centered in the middle. This is due to the first having “0 Volt” offset in the input CSV file, whereas the second has a “1volt” offset.

When these two distinct CSV files are imported into the 1032X, the waveform of the first one, Bobtest1.csv, becomes an AC waveform, whereas (as seen below) Bobtest2.csv imports correctly as a pulsed DC waveform.

The bottom line is that, under some circumstances, it seems that EasyWaveX and the Siglent 1032X will output different signals. In this case, it happens with Bobtest1.cvs.

Did I make a mistake?

Check the termination setting, should it be 50 Ohm?

Scott,

I am using 50 termination. The 1032X display shows that the problem csv, Bobtest1, actually IS an AC signal. The original--in EasyWave, is pulsed DC. Easywave opens Bobtest.csv as pulsed DC, whereas the SDG 1032X sees it as AC. Same file; different results.
