There are a few formats depending on the equipment. You can see all of that in action on the master parsing lists: https://www.eevblog.com/forum/testgear/siglent-ads-firmware-file-format/msg1335892/#msg1335892 Most of the time you can only get to the header after decrypting Siglent's 3DES encryption. |

I see. comparing 2000X to 1004X-E ads, the latter definitely seem compressed or encrypted data. So I should run it through Siglent 3des algo to get something readable like the 2000X. Right? I was under the impression that only a few parts were 3des encrypted. Maybe I didnt read carefully enough. Thanks |

You are not studying the parsings hard enough. SDS X are Blackfin machines with a specific format. SDS X-E are ARM machines with a totally different format (see parsings). Most files usualy have 2 encrypted blocks plus an encrypted file header but SDS X, for example, have no encryption. |

Are these known parameters or are somewhere in the ADS file? Read thread three times and can't find this info, just a hint that the key was in the ADS file but it was a different firmware Thanks for helping out |
