Siglent Equipment Discounted by triplepoint

Hello Everyone,

Looking to get Siglent test equipment to build a home lab for hobby. When searching I found triplepoint.com.au pricing is way cheaper then Appvision who claimed to be Siglent Authorized distributor in Australia. I emailed Appvision trying to match the offered price, they refused and claimed Triplepoint are selling demo units and are not an authorised seller.

I asked triplepoint about the prices who replied saying it is a start up promotion and the price will increase in Jul 2025; however their site are stating the group was formed 1st of December 2006.

Should I stay away from dealing with them? Note that I live in close proximity with Appvision site in Hornsby but not sure if this matters in future should I require repair or maintenance to the equipment.

Unless the repair or maintenance is under warranty, it shouldn't matter where you get it from.
Even if it is a demo unit, nothing wrong with that if you can save some money.
Test gear is generally pretty reliable and warranty is rarely needed, but you need to weigh that up.

If you walk in and pay cash, they will give you a discount, just ask. Mention that you're buying for EE self study.

I guess Triotest felt similar when Appvision started mowing their patch.

Get the new SDG1022X Plus instead. 

The 1022X Plus costs same as 2042X at triple point. Would you get the new "plus" or the 2000 series? I don't mind a demo unit as long as everything works, and it is covered by warranty.

I just pulled a trigger on SDG2042X. $668 AUD inc shipping, just too good.They have 2 units in stock (well, now they have just one). Will update this thread once I receive it. They said they will post this afternoon.

So, my experience so far:

Trigger pulled on Monday, same day I got an email from them confirming stock followed by a phone call from their lovely office admin Cristy to confirm my shipping address. The unit arrived today. The box has not been opened before, there is only original Siglent tape over it. No other signs showing that the unit has been used before as a demo/client loan unit. The serial number on the box matches, number of power-ons is 1. Calibration certificate is from 2024-10-10.

Their website is saying 1 year for everything, but I'll check if they honour Siglent's 3-year warranty. Nothing on the invoice. I am not too concerned as these units are pretty reliable.

Standard on Siglent product except probes which are 1 year.

Awesome, I was planning to buy one soon from Appvision as like micro_me they are quite close to me.
I've been holding off due to cash flow after Xmas, but this offer was too good to let go.  Hopefully someone else didn't grab the stock before me.

And a double win as I finally bought my first piece of Siglent TE!

Hope you get yours soon! Mine arrived very quickly. I tried to register warranty, but Siglent website crashed. Will try again later.
