Siglent Power Supply bricked during upgrade
« on: April 11, 2023, 07:55:17 am »
Today I tried to update the SW on my SPD3303X-E. It reported success, but after restart the unit is stuck without FW and this is the start screen:

when i try to connect to the device via USB or network it starts series of short seaming random beeps....

I tried updating via Network or USB -  no luck. It always reports "the file doesn't match the device".
Any hints?

Yeah it’s a bit annoying FW updates must be done with EasyPower.  ::)
Exactly which firmware were you installing as the message informs you it’s not a match for the PSU model.

You can find the firmware download here:

After getting that incompatibility message I tried both 3303x and 3303x-e updates. Both report the same. I presume that the reason is that the PS lost its indetification settings. Please look at the new image I just attached.
I'm sure there should be a way, but the question is how can I get out of this rabbit hole....

For urgent service you should contact Siglent in Ohio as I’m away from my resources for a couple more days.

HQ tech support recommends installing 1.01.01.02.07R2 FW and NOT a later version.

Any fixes for this? The software crashed during my update and it seems completely bricked. Holding the knob on startup didn’t help :/

Figured it out, there's newer HW versions that prevents rolling back to the 1mV resolution update. Downloaded the latest version of EasyPower and used the latest firmware (SPD3303X_E_V1.01.01.03.10 on HW version 6.2) which fixed the problem
