All the major A brands have many areas of workflow that are unique to their brand. That's been true for decades. --- End quote --- It is not a silly argument. Pedigree means having incorporated decades of customer feedback. It is utterly foolish to ignore that and go ahead re-inventing a square wheel. --- End quote --- Don't be silly. There many things that get obsolete and that changes the paradigm so much that brand new products are equally new ground to startups and 100 years old companies. Actually, the old "pedigree" companies can be so set in their ways that they resist innovation and get left behind. That is actually what happened to Tek and digital scopes many years ago. It took them many years to become relevant again, but never such a dominant player like they used to be. |

At work we have function generators from Siglent, Rigol, GwInstek and Keysight/Agilent. What they all have in common is that their display shows the value that is set at a load of 50 ohms. If the load is not 50 ohms, the actual value is higher. New colleagues learn this "lesson" the first time they use these devices, they are surprised once, then you explain it and then they know. It's quite simple. |
