Siglent SDM3055 vs. SDM3065X
(1/3) > >>
ElectricPower:
I allready have two good handheld multimeters. Brymen 869S and EEVblog BM786.

But i really want an good Bench multimeter with same or better resolution and accuracy then my BM869S.

I have pointed out Siglent SDM3055, but i know SDM3055 also has an bigger brother with name SDM3065X. Yes, the resolution is higher and accuracy, but iss there other reasons to buy SDM3065X instead regards to price?
tautech:
SDM3065X has a few extra fruits but the main difference is the higher accuracy due to its LM399 Vref whereas SDM3055 uses a MAX6325 Vref.

Size comparison when I had all 3, the 3055 mid stack was an early unit before the horned bumpers were added later.

Datasheets reveal the other differences.  ;)

Thanks :)

Do SDM3055 have higher accuracy then BM869S?
Kleinstein:
The SDM3055 is better accuracy, at least in most functions/ranges. In some case by quite a bit, like with resistance and lower currents.
With different ranges there may still be a few point where the Bryman is more accurate because it can use a more suitable range.
The battery supply and thus need for low power just requires compromises.

Another point is that the SDM3055 offers a high input impedance up to 2 V  (the SDM3065 has this up to 20 V).
4 Wire ohm measurement is another point that handheld meters usually don't support - this may be reason for the better accuracy with resistors, especially small ones.

Thanks alot :)

But can you explain why 2V impedance is ipoortant? Is that bad or good?
