Tautech.  Thanks for your comments....

In the 1.3.23 release notes there was an interesting comment about the operating system files.  I have attached a copy as well as the system info from two different scopes (one made in February and updated; the other made in November).   I didn't see any change in format from the previous firmware.  No OS Version ID...

Actually, I'd suspect it's been upgraded from V5 to V8 OS in order to accommodate the significant changes introduced in V23 FW.
There were changes to the GUI in order to add the channel tab indicators for probe attenuation and Invert.
This was done to align 2ch X-E's with features added later to their 4ch cousins.
Many changes were made in V23 FW, many were never part of the original SDS1202X-E specification.

So, that confirms my theory. The 5 and 8 are the OS version.

What you have there are 2 scopes with different OS'es that are running the same application version. And the .ADS doesn't include the new OS (for now). Until Siglent releases an .ADS with the new OS, you won't see any of the previous equipments upgrade to 8.x.x.x.x.

I asked about the possible login as Siglent might have disabled that feature in the new OS.

The two scopes with the upgraded firmware have the same user interface and appear identical.  What I have not checked is using them remotely (i.e. EasyScope).  I wonder if the different OS would have any effect on remote operation.  There must be some reason that they updated the OS in later versions...

How do you login?
