Siglent SDS1062C ? Memory depth

(1/2) > >>

eak:
Hi guys,
I am looking for a scope for my studies, and i don't really want to spend a lot of money in this, so i discovered today Siglent SDS1062C on ebay, and i'm wondering about its efficiency.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Siglent-SDS1062C-Digital-Oscilloscope-60MHZ-DS1052E-/321068287870?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item4ac129477e
It costs near 290$ and it's a cheapest on the market. What do you think about ? I'm worried about its memory, only 4k, it's not even enough to memorize a full screen at 5us/div range at 500MSa/s, am i right?
Sorry for my English, i do my best )

Forget the memory issue, you don't want this scope. It's crap, plain and simple. There are so many issues with it it's not even funny. If you want to know more then search for 'LeCroy WaveAce 224' in this group or on Google. The WaveAce is a rebranded version of this scope, but aside from the color (the LeCroy is black) and the price (the LeCroy is 5 times as expensive) they are identical.

If you can't afford a new scope which is more than just a toy then have a look at a 2nd hand scope. For example, a HP 54510A (250MHz 1GSa/s 2Ch, 8k sample memory per channel) is a very good starter scope. There are a few on ebay right now, for example:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/HP-Agilent-54510A-250-MHz-1-GSa-s-Real-time-digital-Oscilloscope-DSO-TDS-NICE-/261164514101

Or have a look at the Tektronix TDS500/600/700 Series.

Thank you for your advice, but i can't find any word about issues on internet on this scopes. What kind of issues do you talking about? Since siglent=atten , the only one problem mentioned is a firmware bug on first atten's. Your scopes are sure good deal and quality, but they're so huge, i don't have any place to put it in my flat.

Remember this is the essentially same scope you want to buy. Watch the videos, read the review, and if you still think it's worth the money then buy it.

Many. Various Triggering flaws, hang ups, Zoom Mode flaws, lots of display anomalies.

Well, you have to think about what you want. I know the low price looks tempting but you have to decide if you want a toy which according to the bug reports is useless for even very basic tasks or a tool developed for professional use that you can rely on. There's no free lunch as far as test equipment is concerned, and unless you can expand your very low budget then these are your options, plain and simple.
