SIGLENT SDS1072CML (v5.01.02.22) next firmware feature requests
alexan_e:
I purchased the SIGLENT SDS1072CML a couple of weeks ago. The device I have received has hardware version 11-62-3.5 and software version 5.01.02.22.
What I'm disappointed with is that no matter what memory mode is selected (long or normal), the single button captures in low memory mode, this renders the long memory (2M) useless since you can't use it for captured signals unless you use run/stop button, but doing that doesn't have the same effect as the single trigger.
Hoping that someone from Siglent is reading this, here is a wish list for the next firmware release:
* Single trigger should be able to capture in the user selected memory mode, normal or long instead of forcing normal
* When a channel is off, the auto button should not enable it and try to detect a signal from it but ignore it.
* For settings where there is an A and B setting (e.g. the two cursors cur A and cur B) the click of the intensity adjust button should change between them (like in Rigol) rather than having to use the screen side buttons. There should also be a mode that moves both cursors simultaneously (like in Rigol)
* The user should have the option to selectively add single measurements to the screen rather than having to add all the time and all the voltage related measurements. For example being able to add only Vpp, period and +DUT on the screen like shown when auto is pressed
* There should NOT be a language selection popup every time the oscilloscope is turned on, this is annoying

A few good suggestions here, I will point Siglent to this post.
But I ask, as your refer to Rigol, what model are you comparing the SDS1072CML to?
If the Rigol model you refer to is at a similar price point, your comments are worth noting.
You can select a range of single measurements to be displayed in the menu area.
Language popup on boot, refer to this post:

All DSO's have varied UI's and they all take time for user familiarity and the "second nature" of operation to develop.
I am sure in time you will appreciate the robustness and functionality for your Siglent.

I refer to the Rigol DS1052E which is a much older model and currently cheaper.
Here is the relevant part of a video that shows what I describe regarding the cursors http://youtu.be/B0ajIBb4EU4?t=6m15s
You can select between curA, curB and cur A & B just by clicking the intensity adjust button. (Currently SDS1072CML has no curA&B at all)

Yes but the right side measure menu takes space that may be valuable, plus it can only show up to five measurements and the only alternative is to add in the screen all the voltage or time related measurements (shown in the bottom side of the screen). Why not ne able to add only a few of them?

I will check it, thank you.
I'm quite happy from the oscilloscope performance with the exception of the single trigger problem I have described, the rest of the feature I request will just make the usage of the oscilloscope more enjoyable and more effective.[/list]

Alexan, thanks for your advice, we will improve it.

Hi, I've got a SDS1152CML. I checked out the measure function. I found that the default measure parameters is VPP, Vmax,Vmin,Period,Vrms , but you can choose the parameters you are interested in with the type menu in the measure.
