Check:
Read Waveform Data of Digital Example
P251
Will that work for you ?

Does that work for you on a 2000X?

For me

    scope.write("d1: wf? dat2")
    data = scope.read_raw()

(reading a digital channel waveform) has no obvious effect on the scope and just hangs the script, whereas

    scope.write("c1: wf? dat2")
    data = scope.read_raw()

(reading an analog channel waveform) works as expected, stopping the scope and returning a chunk of binary data.

It's in the datasheet: P3 and 14.
Maximum waveform capture rate up to 1GSa/s, Record length up to 14 Mpts/CH
https://www.siglentamerica.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/12/SDS2000X-E_DataSheet_DS0102E-E01A.pdf

The 16 digital channels are provided with an external module, the same as used for SDS1004X-E models, the SLA1016 that connects into the front Sbus connector.
https://www.siglentamerica.com/accessory/sla1016/

Thanks you. I'm considering something like this as a second MSO.

Comparing new X-E to my other scopes... 100MHz square from Leo's SMA EXT trigger 40ps pulser. There is SMA => BNC adapter which may degrade fidelity somewhat. No attenuator.

SDS2352X-E 350MHz scope native 50Ω @ 2GSa/s

100MHz scope 50Ω passthru @ 1GSa/s

500MHz scope native 50Ω @ 2.5GSa/s

Might try later with less aggressive signals and supplied probe. If someone has specific request what to test can try. No point to make review as such because it's just as other X-E's only much faster.

Do you mean DS5k from Rigol, or will there be SDS5kX soon from Siglent?

About lacking decoding over SCPI, It exists in the 1000X-E series, just as normal is undocumented. I suspect they should work for the 2000 series. I have not fully documented most of these yet, but they do exist,

Command    B1:DCCN    B1:DeCo_CAN
Command    B1:DCIC     B1:DeCo_IiC
Command    B1:DCLN    B1:DECO_LIN
Command    B1:DCSP    B1:DECO_SPI
Command    B1:DCUT    B1:DECO_UART
Command    B2:DCCN    B2:DECO_CAN
Command    B2:DCIC    B2:DECO_IIC
Command    B2:DCLN    B2:DECO_LIN
Command    B2:DCSP    B2:DECO_SPI
Command    B2:DCUT    B2:DECO_UART
Query          DCDI         DeCo_DIgital
Command    DCPA         DeCo_Param
Query          DCLR         DeCo_CleaR
Com / Que   DCST         DeCo_STatus
Query          DCVL         DeCo_VaLue

DCVL is the one you want, as best I can see it spits out the decoded stream, I have not yet figured out the formatting yet though,

Try the short commands first, some of the long commands where bugged in the 1000 series, and I expect it to be the same on the 2000

Welcome to the forum.

Nah, sorry on holiday here and soon to catch a bird back to NZ.
Got a couple of units arriving in NZ in a few weeks so I’ll be sure to be posting something about them if they don’t end up presold.
Keep an eye on MrWOlf’s investigations.

New firmware for SDS2000X-E models.

Version V1.1.19R2
8.3MB
https://int.siglent.com/upload_file/zip/firmware/Oscilloscope/SDS2000X-E_1.1.19R2_EN.zip

Release notes
1. Optimized communication between SDS2000X-E and SLA1016. This revision (and higher) requires the SLA1016
MUST be upgraded to 8.1.16 (or higher) first. Please take a look at ‘Compatibility with SLA1016’ at the end of
the release notes.
2. Optimized Bode Plot: Accuracy and Sensitivity Improvement, New Vari-level Mode for Testing Loop Response, Miscellaneous Function and UI Improvements.
3. Optimized FFT UI: Added Peaks, Markers, and search within FFT.
4. Optimize self-calibration for channels.
5. Optimized accessing USB drive so that when a USB drive is moved to a computer, Windows will not prompt a restoration of the USB drive.
6. Optimize WIFI connection: 63 characters can now be used for a WPA2 PSK key.
7. Added parity options of MARK/SPACE for UART of 9-bit Decode.
8. Optimized behavior of the cursors (x-axis): Added a mode that the cursors remain at the set position on the waveform when changing time base.
9. Added automatic reset to 0 for sample count for statistics after any timebase or voltage range changes.
10. Fixed the bug: The audible beeper activation would affect the voltage waveform displayed for CH2.
11. Fixed the bug of ROV measurement.
12. Fixed the bug: Normal trigger can show more-than-one trigger event on the display at one time.
13. Fixed the bug: Erratic triggering, randomly jumping between the first and the second edge of a signal.
14. Fixed the bug: The acquire time of history is reset to zero if the time reach 1 hour and 11 minutes. The delta time is also wrong if the period is longer than 1 hour and 11 minutes.
15. Fixed The SPI triggering issue: the 16-bit trigger wouldn't work for a gap >360 ns between the two 8-bit packets.
16. Fixed the bug: Save/Recall setup of trigger and scale issue. ( SalesForce ID:P-00199)(SalesForce ID P-00200)
17. Fixed the bug: Reading cursors by SCPI is not accuracy
18. Fixed the bug: In fine adjust mode, some scale such as 302 mV/DIV is in the wrong position.
19. Fixed the bug: LIN decoder doesn't decode frames with zero-length response.
20. Fixed the bug: If the Courser Offset is not a multiple of zoom time base, the cursor will be replaced when zoomed.
21. Fixed the bug: The measurements made with the cursor in Ref. Give wrong values for all the different probes of
X1.
22. Fixed the bug: Measures fairs with GATE give completely random values in signals of low frequency.

There is also firmware version 1.1.20R3 (that my SDS2000X-E came with).  Its being said to be the intermediate version that was created "to optimize the internal processes" (refactoring?) without any (hmm, may be yes, may be not ;) bug fixes/new issues.  And also "... as praparations for the further improvements" was mentioned, so it could be that the new firmware for SDS2000X-E could appear at some point at the Siglent download areas.

Since new devices come with it, I consider it to be stable enough for keen engineers to try it.  It came from Siglent representatives, but just as a lone .ADS file, not the usual zip with changelogs.

And since it is really boring to live without SHELLCMD, here is the alternative that, I hope, will survive at least some of the future updates of Siglent firmware (and, once currently installed, it will survive all updates up to 1.1.20R3): http://codelabs.ru/firmware/siglent/sds2000x-e/php-cli/v1/

Thank you very much, rea.
The update solved the ugly bug of my post https://www.eevblog.com/forum/testgear/sds2202x-e-fpga-bug-or-broken/msg3518718/#msg3518718.
I wonder why Siglent is taking so long to put an official update on their site.

Successfully applied hack to transform the SDS2202X-E to 2352X-E, thanks to information in the blog!
I can confirm that the hack actually changes both the bandwidth and the rise time, because I measured both configurations, 200 and 350 MHz. The attached reading was obtained with a Marconi 2019A source, with level corrected with an hp power meter. Input to the scope was done using the internal 50 ohm termination:
1282063-0
The final risetime is just below 1 ns, it was 1.2-1.5 ns before the hack. Test was done with a 45 ps rising edge
1282069-1
1282075-2
Also the original 200 MHz probe is better than I thought, reaching well the 350 MHz with a modest attenuation. I tested it using the supplied probe-to-BNC adapter, using a T adapter and an external 50 ohm load. This is a kind of measurement not as reliable as the previous one, so uncertainty is higher.

After so many months and in the presence of bugs, the official downloadable FW release for the SDS2202X-E is still stuck at 1.1.19R5, while new models are sold with newer versions. Version 1.1.20R3 was available AT LEAST from last june and thanks to user rea I could install it on last september.
But why don't they distribute updates? Perhaps tautech can help?

20R3 is still the current version as I got a copy just recently.
