Besides the power off process, what are your experiences comparing both instruments?

Without any real experience with scopes, I'm having to learn what I'm looking for. Having the two has offered some perspective.
I like both of them a lot.
A set of controls for each channel like the RIGOL is awesome. I also want one set for all channels like the Siglent. So 5 sets of channel control knobs ought be about right.

I keep having the urge to squish them together to make one single 'perfect' low-price-point scope.
I may keep both and duct tape them together.

I'll try to come back and offer my thoughts. I have the RIGOL for a couple more days. I don't have any good equipment to test them with, but if there is anything you can't find in the nearly exhaustive SDS2000xp vs RMSO5000 super threads, let me know and I'll try to take a look.

Maybe this video is helpful? The first comment also.

The MSO5000 seems like a very good scope. It has some outstanding flaws AFAIK, as the rather high noise floor and subpar/unfinished FFT/BODE plot capabilities. It has also some quite unique advantages in it's price class, as the HDMI out, zone triggers, extremely high sample rate, separate controls for each channel, dual-channel AWG and some I'm surely forgetting.

The Siglent has 50Ohm inputs, very low noise floor, and probably best FFT and BODE in it's price class (at least until the new 12-bit offerings come to market). It has also an allegedly pretty good 10-bit mode up to 100MHz. It also goes up to 500MHz.

Yes, that video is awesome. One of my favorite. It's been a go-to vid, especially in the last few weeks as I learned more through RTFM. I go back and re-watch several videos often.
Nezbrun, IMSAI Guy, EEVBLOG of course, and others I'm forgetting (but you're still very important to me ;)  )
IMSAI Guy, in  "#1380 Rigol MSO5000 XY mode fix" , showed that maybe the noise floor thing is not as bad now? Is XY mode relate to general noise floor?

I just found this one about the noise floor by PY2TKI Marcos while searching for IMSAIs vid:

I don't speak Portuguese, but Did you know there is a caption translating option under the gear icon at the bottom? I /just/ found that.  ::) I'm so excited to go watch that vid AND understand what is being said!

Also EEVBLOG Forum is absolutely amazing. There are so many knowledgeable and genuinely helpful people here. I tried to read the entire SDS2000X Plus vs MSO5000 thread, but I only made it 30 pages before I realized it may not be the best way to go about it LOL
And there's drama, too! It gets down right MMA sometimes, but everyone seems pretty forgiving and professional. Genuine opinions and beliefs are discussed, created, destroyed and modified 24 hours a day, in a 'mostly' respectful and fun way. It's very cool :)
And the animated emotes are the best anywhere. They really tickle me. Especially this one:
thaaaat's my favorite.

I have to go be responsible for the day :-- , which is going to be tough because I was up 'till 03:00 reading the TEA group therapy thread last night.

I have been collecting screen shots and questions from/about both scopes. Should I post them here? or create new posts for each  different question with a better searchable title?
