Hi,
Earlier, I ran through all the decoder signals except “Parallel” from the demo board on the Siglent.
Everything was really easy to set up (well, maybe a little less so with Manchester) and the “Copy to Trigger” function works very well.
Some decoders allow you to set the familiar city/country sequence; with Lin, it is a simple “Hi,” and with others, it is “Batronix.”
Here is the first batch of pictures without a table.

The corresponding tables—you can imagine what I like about them and what could possibly be improved.

Hello!
I need some help:(
Just got a new one sds1204x hd and can't get the probe to compensate correctly. There is always a peak at the rising front. I tried different probes (Siglent PP215 and Master Probe 4913-1PA), both from the built-in 1 kHz generator and from the sdg2122x generator also.
4913-1PA has bigger peak..

is this a problem with the oscilloscope or should I buy other probes? then how to choose them correctly so that the compensation range is sufficient and there is no such surge?

I really like spring loaded probe:( May be I should try PMK-PML spring loaded? Then which ones will be best for my oscilloscope?

Hello and welcome to the forum.
1.) You can and should take “proper” screenshots. This is easy to do by inserting a USB stick and pressing the “Save” button.
2.) The illustrations in the probe instructions for compensation are idealized; it is not possible to achieve such perfection in reality.

Sorry for this photos, just typing on the phone..Will try tomorrow from PC.

So do you think my probes are ok and I should live with it? Im pretty new with oscilloscopes…
Can someone share a screenshot of the PML probes on siglent? is there a peak like that there too?

Peaking as a spike from the 1kHz probe compensation output is most unusual.  :-//

Attached are screenshots from early unreleased SDS1204X HD beta unit using PP215 probe and probe compensation output.

Slightly undercompensated in the last screenshot... ;)

In image IMG8659, it is indeed a little too high, but the rest is OK.

Yeah, 8658 definitely looks normal. He should probably zoom in a little bit with the timebase to make adjustment easier.

Hello,

I am a little embarrassed to ask the following question.
Is it possible to save all recorded waveforms with one command in history mode on the Siglent SDS2000 X HD and SDS3000X HD?
And what exactly does the “Auto Save (on)” setting do?

Best regards
egonotto

Hello

I was eyeing a SDS1074X HD, but recently couldn't find them for sale in the US. Is this a new change? Possible due to the tariffs?

Thanks

Welcome to the forum.

The 70 MHz version has never been available in the US:
https://siglentna.com/digital-oscilloscopes/sds1000x-hd-digital-storage-oscilloscope/

Edit to add
The 70 MHz version is available in China however it's a prohibited export and sellers can get into big trouble with Siglent if they ignore that and get caught.

I'm here to share my pleasure in having received my new SDS3034X-HD. Yay!  :)

I got it right under the wire, as Siglent has raised U.S. prices as of May 2, no doubt due to the tariff situation.

It's quite nice! Fast, 12 bits, adequate bandwidth, mixed signal, FFT and Bode plots, lots of included functions, etc. I don't see much missing compared to the Agilent scopes I'm familiar with. Of course, I wish it was the 1 GHz version with a full compliment of active probes, but I expect this will serve me well in my little home lab.

I like it!  :D

Yes, it seems to be a popular purchase.  8)

Looking through the user and service manuals, the scope does some form of system hardware test on power up. If there are issues these would be prompted. There doesn't seem to be an option to force a hardware test from the menus (as on the KS 2x/3x series). Would the "Self Calibration" perform a similar test?

Why you might ask? The friendly freight company thought the box was taking too much room and compressed one end. Fortunately the double-box and packing appears to have protected the scope, along with the square heft of the instrument.

As an aside, the Batronix MSO demo board looks like a useful function test tool.

Power Up self test is similar to what PC does on boot. If it passes Ok than it probably works fine.

You need to inspect scope visually if there are any signs of physical damage.

In Utility menu you have Maintenance->Self Test menu where you can test screen, keyboard and LEDs.

If you run Maintenance->Self calibration  scope will perform full battery of test.
It will also realign some parameters.
Self Calibration is recommended periodically, especially if scope is experiencing large changes in temperature.

No signs of physical damage and the tests in the Self Test menu all work fine.

After a long warm-up the Self Calibration completed without errors or notifications. That is a relief.

The promotional software licence installed okay.

Thanks for the advice. :-+

Hopefully this is the proper place to report a possible "bug" with the SDS3000X HD.

When doing an FFT, sometimes the Horizontal Axis also displays the Time Axis along with the Frequency Axis, even tho the Time Domain Signal Source is "Hidden".

Any thoughts on SDS1104X HD vs SDS2104X Plus at $1400 for each? I mostly do embedded stuff, and have a saelae logic analyzer, but was thinking it might be nice to have a scope around in case I needed to do some analog debug. Do I really need/benefit from the 12 bit resolution of the SDS1000x HD series? Or honestly, should I just get a SDS804X HD?

Thanks

Hi,

SDS800X HD also have 12 bits. ;)
If you don't mind a larger screen, auto-sense and integrated 50-ohm inputs, then go ahead and choose the SDS800 X HD.

Actually, this is a good opportunity to create a setup file and upload it here.

If you invoke FFT with Decade Frequency Scale, then go to CH1 and Switch between Hide and Show, then return to the FFT, parts of the Time Scale remain on the FFT Frequency Axis even when CH1 is in Hide Mode. Doesn't seem to matter what the FFT Parameters or CH1 Parameters are, other than FFT being in Decade Frequency Scale.

We noted this when investigating the effects of Hardware and Software ERES.
