Thank you. I did see that post but I didn't think it answered my questions and I'm not clear on what procedure was used to achieve that. I must have missed something - will go back and read that thread a few more times...  :-[

Are there any model specific pitfalls to avoid for the SSA3032X-R?
Yes with current FW there is a serious RBW limitation earlier SSA models do not have. Check datasheets.
Working with the factory to have this addressed.

VNA is a complete different device and has different hardware so, no upgrade is possible from Siglent SSA30xxX Plus to SSA30xxX-R.

Yep but nothing official.
There will be new firmware to address this and considerable improvement has been made.

Unless I'm missing something, the latest firmware is still dated 2021-01-15 (v3.2.2.4.0). Is this correct?

Welcome to the forum.

A V5 is not too far away but still has a few issues the factory is currently working on.

Hello all.  Forum newbie here.

I have a Siglent SSA 3032X-R RTSA @ 3.2 GHz model.  With latest 3.2.2.5.1R1 firmware upgrade installed.

I'm encountering what seems to be a glitch when I'm in the RTSA mode.  I've been working with Ohio to troubleshoot the problem, but they've been unable to duplicate my symptoms on their instruments.

The problem has to do with the Max Hold function in the RTSA/Density mode.   It doesn't work on my RTSA unless the Averaging is first set to a value other than 1!

I'm not sure if it is appropriate to discuss this topic on the forum?

Regards,
Nelson - Seattle

Hi tautech,

a question to the SSA3032X-R specs:
What is the effective bandwidth in digital modulation analysis mode? The specs state a Symbol Rate of up to 25Msps * Points/Symbol --> max. 150Msps (approx. 100MHz eff. analysis BW), unlike the comment in same specs about: "The analysis BW is same with real-time BW in RTSA mode" --> so only max. 40MHz?  :-//
Furthermore, does the SSA really "manage" a 256 QAM with 4096 length data analysis? How fast does it?
Could you clarify and maybe show some modulation analysis testings - to get an idea of "real" analysis BW limits?

Many thanks!

Hi Nelson,

congratulations for your SSA3000X-R unit - I am evaluating the purchase of one, too.
Could you share your experience with some screenshots of Digital Modulation Analysis (i.e. 64QAM, 25Msps Symbol Rate, 4 Points/Symbol, 2048 length) with max. BW available?
As far as I have understood from the specs, the unit should have total <150Msps in that mode.
So, a 100MHz BW should be feasible. However, I found a note in the specs saying that max. analysis BW is limited to 40MHz  :-//
In addition, is the unit still workable (or far too slow) in Digital Modulation Analysis with setting of 256QAM, 25Msps and 4096 meas. length?

Many thanks!
Rob

To follow up on my own post - I was able to demonstrate the problem on my instrument to Siglent Ohio.  Hoping for a firmware upgrade in the near future to remedy the problem.  This affected the Max Hold and the Averaging display in RTSA mode.

SSA3032X-R -> SSA3075X-R

Hi tv84,

trying to upgrade the 3000X-R to 7.5GHz with keygen (option "3075") but without success - license rejected, however other options installed with success.

Help appreciated - many thanks!

Hello Everyone,

I think i found a possible bug with the EMI option in the SSA 3032X-R :

I run a scan from 150 kHz to 30 Mhz RF input terminated into 50R, 0 dB input attenuation, then i change the attenuation to 10 dB then to 20 dB.

To me it looks like it just adds the input attenuation to the trace and it this what is it suposed to do? Please look at the marker, i would have thoght is should show the same level at a given frequency.
Is there some option did i not activate?
