Western release is in just under a fortnight and a 26.5 GHz SA for under $25 k is very impressive.

As expected the new SSG5000A RF gen is to be the TG source when coupled with SSA5000A models which for both there will be 13.6 and 26.5 GHz versions.

I think at current exchange rates $25k might almost buy you a Rohde & Schwarz FPL. Maybe more of a gap once you add options to both. I still like the form-factor of the new 5000 series.

A good test would be:

- Input of an OXCO as 10/100MHz
- Set RBW to 1Hz
- have center as given signal
- Freq. range as +/- 100 or 200Hz

and look at the side peaks as they alter ...  , as nice to see on SSA3000A Plus series

Gross margins for an illegally upgraded SSA5083A can be north of 55% - the hardware-related options requiring a software key are particularly lucurative.
