I am anticipating the arrival of my Siglent SVA1032X. Up to now I have been using a SDR-Kits VNWA and one nice touch in their VNA software is a provision for an external S-Parameter Test Set via serial output for external relay. The test set can be easily built using a high quality, high isolation transfer switch. With the test set, the VNWA software allows quick calibration in forward and reverse directions giving the quick functionality for a full 2 port graphic report. Any chance Siglent would be interested in doing something similar with a future upgrade of EasySpectrum?

Hi Jerry,
No idea about the future plans. However one way of doing what you want - since you are already using a PC - is to write software to control the switch and grab the data from the SVA. Then do the calibration calculations on the data.
Scikit-rf is a library with full 2 port calibration calcs already implemented, I don't think it would be too difficult to do. I'm not sure what effect the transfer switch would have on the accuracy either. Certainly it would be an interesting experiment.
