Hello everyone,
I just ordered my Siglent SDS1104X-E oscilloscope yesterday and it should arrive today. I got the invoice with the serial number already and checked it on the "Check Your Warranty Status" site. It says: "Warranty period to: 2023-11-28". Does this mean I got a returned product resold to me again?! If this is true, I am a bit angry because I could buy returns cheaper on the Siglent web-store and pay not the full retail price.
Thanks!

Also my serial show the same date, ordered 1 1/2 weeks ago, arrived 4 days ago. The siglent warranty is 3 years. Normally an oem use the production date (or the last date that they have it before shipment to sales points) as warranty start, then correct it when you need to use the warranty services (asking the proof of purchase), at that time they update theyr records. Siglent is unaware when a product is sold, the only proof is the invoice.
Let me bet: You bought it from meilhaus?

I think it is very clear.
Whole warranty info is here https://www.siglenteu.com/service-and-support/warranty-information/ (https://www.siglenteu.com/service-and-support/warranty-information/)
3. The warranty period starts from the date of the valid certificate of purchase (receipt or invoice) . If the invoice cannot be offered, the starting date will adopt the manufacturer’s delivery date. In the event of a sale or product transfer by the original purchaser to a third party, the warranty period shall be three (3) years or one (1) year (See #2) from the date of purchase of the product by the original purchaser from SIGLENT or its authorized distributors.

When you claim the warranty, is valid the date on the invoice. But siglent isn't aware of every oscilloscope sold from every reseller. So, at their records on the website there is the manufacturer’s delivery date.
When you claim the warranty, if you show the receipt, is used that date.
The date reported on the website is absolutely correct. Most manifacteurs or authorized service point update their records if the product if returned for servicing in warranty period (if the receipt is provided).

It is exactly as I quote Siglent official statement about warranty. Period.
Siglent also keep track about all serials what have sold to parties what have purchased then from Siglent. When this party, distributor or other Siglent accepted party, sell it to end user. If he is normal good quality seller, he keep record what serial he have sold to individual end user because he have also record about all serials what he have get from Siglent. So normally it is fully traceable. Of course there is then sellers who sell oscilloscopes etc as what ever things like soap or milk bottles.
