DER EE DE-5000 random ER01 on power on
« on: December 11, 2015, 06:44:13 pm »
Hi all,
I just received a brand new DE-5000.
I switched on and I got the ER-01 message on screen (with no probes attached)
Turning off and then on the unit worked fine.
After some on and off I got (randomly) again that message.
Is my unit faulty??

Yes I calibrated it.
But .... do I have to calibrate it every time I switch on??

However good news, I never had that error again.

No, you don't have to calibrate it every time you turn it on. I think the EEPROM just is empty/has garbage in it until you do the first calibration, that's what causes the error.

Ok, so this explains why I don't get anymore that error (I calibrated it).
