VNC client for DSOX/MSOX scopes

Has anyone had success connecting to the Keysight 2000/3000 scopes with a standard VNC client? I can connect, but I only get the display, not the soft control panel, so it is useless for controlling the instrument.

Did Keysight modify the customize the java VNC client for this application? Looking at the parameters passed into the applet, there is a UIType parameter which isn't a standard VNC option.

We are getting down to the last days of running Java so we need to figure out a way to do this without.
