Title: SPD3303X Firmwareupdate 1.01.01.02.07R2
Post by: mrprecision on February 07, 2021, 05:52:41 pm
I have just installed on my SPD3303X the Firmwareupdate 1.01.01.02.07R2. The different font colors are ok, and the OCP funktion is working. But now the power supply makes beeps in constant current mode, for example if I charge batteries. Does anybody know how do disable this constant beep in constant current mode, or is this a bug?

Changes:
1. Add the OCP function (Long push the right arrow button (’→’) get into or exit OCP function) function).
2. Different font colors when the power is ON and OFF.
3. Some improvements about the USB’s stability.

Updated to 1.01.01.02.07R2 (on an X-E converted to X) and not experienced any beeping yet.

The same here.  "E" suppressed and no beeping when in CC.

@mrprecision
May be the case that the beeps have something to do with the fact there's a battery charging? Or it happens every time the PSU goes to CC?
Anyway, I don't know if there's an option to silence "the thing"  :-//

I figured out, the device beeps continuously if the outputs are shorted without a load. So if the constant current is reached and the output voltage is still very close to zero, than they peep to signal that there is a short circuit. So it is everything fine for me now.

HI All,

I have just updated FW to 1.01.01.02.07R2 and i've noticed something strange when powering up the PSU, once i press the power button i hear the relay fires like 4-5 times very fast and then just before the device fully boots there is one more relay sound.
Is this how it should be?
When i return to "1.01.01.02.05" FW i only hear one relay "click" when i press the ON button.

Many thanks,
Alek

Hi. I've just checked with the very same Firmware on a now "X".

With pressing the switch butten there is like one very fast relay sound of what I think are 2 Relays switching forth and back once.
Then "siglent" logo boot screen and all buttons lighning up.
Then switch to normal operation display with exactly one other relay switching once.

For me really important are the ouputs staying off during startup. Some relay switching will not kill them als long as I live. :-)

Thanks Peter_O!

Yes, thats exactly how my (now X) behaves. Oh well, seems like its normal.
Now just to upgrade that fan for quiet evening hours in the lab. Already installed Noctual rubber fasteners and now much better but planning to replace the fan as well with silent Noctua.

Many thanks,
Alek

To not confuse other readers: The 3303 is very silent with factory fan.  :D

The 3055 DVM is much much louder. My HP3455 DVM easily drowns both of them and with the Lambda Genesys PSU running you cannot decide if the any other device is running including my 2200W vacuum cleaner.

Yes, it is indeed very quiet, but that can always be improved further :-)
Late at night when everything is silent, quiet fan humming is the only thing i hear, and the quieter the better! :-)

Maybe thats just me getting older
Many thanks,
Alek
