Specs of Tek 2445B?
« on: October 14, 2014, 10:29:28 am »
Been lurking around Tektronix 2445/65 for a while, lusting to have one in my lab...
I noticed that the 2445B seems to be either 150 or 200 MHz??
Comparing with its bigger brother 2465A/B this clearly indicates 350 and 400 MHz.
Were there two versions of the 2445B??

Except for the BW is there any other reason to pick the 2465 vs 45?
Some sells these with white CRT, is it possible to convert to more "normal" blue-ish colour?

The 2445B was introduced as a 150MHz scope (in 1989 I believe).  In the 1993 catalog, it was shown as a 200MHz scope.  I don't know if there is a serial number break where the change was made.  The "white" CRT just means that someone removed the blue CRT filter from face.  This can be replaced.

I always thought it went:
2445 & 2445A (150MHz)
2445B (200MHz)

, but no serial number split on the B models before the increased BW was added.

The B first appears in the '89 catalog as 150MHz. It isn't shown as 200MHz until the 91 catalog where it's listed as 200MHz for +15 to +35C operation (150MHz for -15 to +15 and 35 to 55C).  I have a 2445B that shows 150MHz on the front panel.

Thanks.  :) Didn't know that.

Front panel label on mine states 200MHz, and don't recall seeing a B model @ 150MHz.
