Failed fan on Keysight DSO6000A scope
« on: February 01, 2021, 07:47:22 pm »
The fan on my trusty 12yo DSO6034A failed yesterday.  The fan is already pretty quiet and there's apparently no thermal monitoring build into the scope so I didn't realize there was a problem until all four traces went out and I noticed the BNC connectors on the front were getting really warm.  Luckily I had a replacement on hand - a Panasonic FBA09A12H - and it's super-easy to replace.  Hopefully Keysight has added a temperature sensor (or has at least started monitoring the fan RPM) on newer scopes.
