I'm borrowing a coworkers Fluke i410 clamp on amp meter. The clamp has a strange offset that can't be zeroed out.
Without the clamp connected to anything, both a Fluke multi meter and a Rigol scope show an offset between 250mV and 2V.
This is too much offset for the knob on the from to zero out. Further some percussive maintenance causes the offset to jump around.
Repeatedly turning the clamp on and off also can cause the offset to jump around. The other day the clamp was acting up but eventually started showing correctly.
Today i can't get it to behave at all.
The battery is brand new and reads 9.45v unloaded. I have not tried reading current with the clamp. It was calibrated in march of 2016 (sticker on the front).
What could be wrong with it? Is this a know issue with these clamps? Is it repairable?
