Systron Donner HR 70-3 PSU thrift store find
(1/1)
Nickelbender:
Stumbled on this beauty while going through my usual thrift stores. It is a Systron Donner HR 70-3 Lab bench power supply. It goes from 0-70 Volts and 0-3 amps which is quite the overkill for me, but still picked it up anyways. It seems to work great and will the most definitely be used a lot. I haven't really been able to find a lot of info about this power supply the design looks semi old, it is a linear power supply as far as I know. It has a huge transformer inside which probably gives it its weight of 13.4 Kg. Haven't had the time to do a teardown yet but looking forward to see some old PSU goods ;D.
If anyone knows anything about the time that this could have been made in I would love to know. I'll be sure to post the insides too as soon as I get to it.
TheDefpom:
The power switch looks the same as used on the HP3400A from the early 80's, so it is likely from that era.
