It's a portable or rather a large handheld (battery and optional isolated inputs), I guess it depends on how you look at it but few if any handhelds have knobs. Like everything it's a wait and see.

As well as the "1GMHz" it boasts "up to" 5GSa/s, 200,000wfms/s and 360Mpts memory depth. Oh, and an integrated 6 1/2 digit multimeter and a waveform generator.

That's quite the little thing. I don't see fitting much internal shielding in there. So... your specs look decent, if they're true, but quote me this one: noise floor. How much of its own clock and power crap gets picked up? I want to be able to look at a signal at 10mV/div without having to guess how much of what I see is actually coming up the probe cable.

This was my first thought as well. But once in a while, touchscreen is done right. Can you do it right? I don't just want LCD buttons to smear my fingers on, I want an intuitive touch interface with proper tactile manipulation of the data. Show it in use!

Also... can a few heavy, thick cables plugged into it knock it down? There is definitely an advantage to equipment filled with bricks...

The form factor aside, the specs seem very impressive for a new company.
I do wonder where they get their 1GHz front end from, and 300K/wfmssec, I'm mean, that sort of bandwidth and speed doesn't just pop out of nowhere from scratch from a new company.

Isn't that in 1 GHz range, the BNC is simply not the right connector anymore ? 

Unless its a "GMHz", then I don't have any clue at all.

Isn't that in 1 GHz range, the BNC is simply not the right connector anymore ? 

For ordinary Joe Bloggs ones. There are special versions of the BNC that can go to 1GHz no problems, in fact, over 4GHz.

That's why I don't want handheld scopes. But this one can't even be hand-held properly.

It is a 60 mm thick 10" tablet, weighting 1.8 kg. Just some kind of grove on the top back side, no grip, and the probe cables going out to the left.



So if you are a right hander you can't just hold that thing in your left hand and keep fondling it with your right hand. If you change hands, you'll quickly get tired holding that 60 mm brick in your right hand and touching with the left. You can't hold it in both hands and try to touch-operate it with your thumbs, unless you have super large thumbs.

So you have to have it lying flat or standing on its tilt. This thing is at best portable.
