I bought this thing a few months ago and because I wanted to change the connectors so I opened it and used the opportunity to make a review of it. On my site you see all pictures and calibration results. I did not make adjustments. There are a few trimpots so if someone wants to do that it is possible.
Soldering is not great. I resoldered everything and removed some of the component connectors and replaced them with banana sockets. I added a resetable 650 mA
fuse in series with the caps input.
I also made a video.
It is usable as transistor/fet tester. It can measure Vce(sat), hFE, Iceo, Vbr. It can generate several base currents. That makes it a useful tool.
It is very handy as zener (Vbr upto 1600V) , led tester (Vce with 4 currents) or MOV tester (Vbr) . It kan generate 270V and 1600V for isolation breakdown voltages. The Ice reads uA's and generates 26Vdc. It is usable to measure leakage current of capacitors. I tested a 25V 100 uF that showed 4 uA on the display, the real leakage was around 1.5 uA. At higher currents it is better. I tried to place pictures here, but the filesize was to big. But you see them on my site
