Fluke 287 vs 189-II
« on: January 06, 2018, 10:50:49 pm »
Does anyone know the difference between the Fluke 287 and the Fluke 189-II (can't find it on Fluke's website, here is an Ebay listing: http://r.ebay.com/tqApiP)?

I have seen a couple of these now, but know nothing about them.

If I'm not mistaken, the Fluke 189 II is the predecessor to the 287/289 models.  Dave did a review of the 189 II way back in #15.

AFAIK a 287 is a 187-11

and a 289 is a 189-11

187 and 189 models without the '-11' are the previous style and look different in style and function

All these 6 meters are awesome btw  :-+  and a definite but pricey upgrade from  the Fluke 87 series, or any series!   8)

$675 would get you two good used   -antique-   Fluke 287s

and two strong lattes to enjoy, whilst waiting for them to be packed at the vintage auction room    ;D

For bench meters, Keysight. For hand held, you would need to pry my Fluke 287 from my cold dead hand. Or my Fluke 87-V for that matter.
Thanks for the info, confirms my thoughts.
