LCR Meter To Measure Smd components
« on: April 21, 2023, 11:19:53 am »
Hello,
I am looking for a very good quality LCR meter. I will use it to measure smd components especially the capacitors on the circuit.
Please suggest me some LCR meters.  :-DMM

Shannon tweezers are very good.  Long thread here about them.

Are you sure you want an LCR meter and not an ESR meter?
Some can do both but best to know what you want/need exactly.

I have a PCB and there are capacitors on it and I would like to measure their values with LCR meter. I think LCR meters can also show ESR value of the capacitor.

Thank you.  I will check this device but it seems I can only measure the caps up to 40V. Or what is dc bias up to 40V?

The LCX can provide an external DC bias up to 40V (or an internally generated bias up to 10V).  This is "added" to the test signal voltage, which has a frequency-dependent max value (but always < 10V)

If you need to test caps at higher voltages, then the only thing we could offer is scopes and power supplies.

Don't forget

Testing caps in circuit has a limit, you may be influenced by other parts / circuit   .... it as its limits

When you test some supplies    or very low output impedance stuff, it get problematic,   better remove the parts   ...

Done a few tests with the DE-5000  lcr in circuit and outside,  and results differ greatly ....

my 2 cents
