Hi,
So my office is upgrading our osciloscope, and the management is offering me to buy the old
scope, MSO2024 for 50% list preis.
Since I am looking for a 4 Channels scope, and the plan was to buy Rigol DS1007,
So what do guys/ think?Better getting the MSO2024 :-//

If you can convince them to go under $1K I'll go for the Tektronix. But try to plead for $600 if you can, if they don't then offer $800.
Hassle a little, might be worth it.
Does the MS02024 comes with options?
And sure, you can probably "upgrade" as in hack the Rigol to 100MHz but the MSO2024 is 200MHz to begin with. I guess it all depends on the price and what you can get them to agree with.
BTW the MSO2024 is discontinued you might use that info to your advantage to get it cheaper.
Edit: assuming you meant the Rigol DS1074Z, because I have no clue what the DS1007 is.

ooopss :palm:..my bad, I meant Rigol DS1074Z.
The offer is more than 1K, and I dont think i can negotiate below than
that..
I'm still contemplating to get a scope(Rigol DS1074Z) and a logik analyzer or MSO2024.
The extra bandwidth is great but still expensive for my taste.

The new model Tektronix MSO2024B goes for $3,800. the old one MSO2024 went for $4200
For $3000 you can get a brand new MSO2024. So still at $1500 it's a good deal but depends what you want.
I guess I'm asking what are they asking for it?
How old is it, and does it have any upgrades?
-
The offer is for 1500€, and it is not that old (3-4 years).I) think it is the standard model,
no upgrades.
I'm in the market for 4 channels and the price is in the top range of
my budget,
The reason I'm asking here is because it is a discontinued scope, it is really a
good offer?
-
It is a good price if the condition is good but the hackable Rigol is $585.00 (426.48€) so less than one third of that. I guess look at the manuals and see if the extra 1000€ account for the MSO part of it (16 digital channels) and the higher bandwidth.
It's a good deal if it's in good condition but it all sums up, what do you need for the next years to come until you decide to get another one.
If it was me and didn't have a couple of scopes already I would be all over it, but I would still hackle a little to get it under that price.
So again, it all depends what you need/want.
Good deal, yes, do you need it? you are the only person that can answer that.
-
The condition is great. For now I dont need the bandwidth but maybe this will be not the case in the future.
But it is 1000€ more.
Decision, decision, decison.
anyway thanks miguelvp for weighing in.
