| Tektronix 222 power suppl |

I just received a used Tek 222 that I bought off eBay. But it did not come with a power supply. From what I’ve read, the lemon power supply provides 16v AC. The back also lists dc voltage a external power spec. Can either be applied to this unit? Is there a setting required to allow this? |

Yes, I run mine on 12V DC. The only thing to make sure is that the power supply should be able to provide enough current, as the scope will work with an under spec'd power supply, but you'll get al sorts of weirs stuff, like failing self cal or glitches. I have also created a new battery pack from AA NiMHs. 7 times in series of pairs of 2 in parallel. Nicely fits the battery compartment and the scope can even sort of charge it. (Though better to charge separate for max charge). A fine little scope it is. |

I have the 224 which is basically the same and have run it on a transformer AC wall-wart supply and DC bench power supply with no issues at all. |

Hey all I just got mine working that I got broken off eBay. It had a blown fuse, tantalum cap and ferrite bead on the power supply. It’s working now on dc in but the ferrite bead blew when I connected battery power. But I think it might have been that the tantalum cap might have already been blown from whatever had popped the fuse. My concern is my Nimh pack is 9.6v and I noticed it’s reading 10.6v right now fully charged. Is this a safe voltage to power the scope at through the battery input? |
