Tektronix 3032
« on: December 18, 2017, 08:30:40 am »
Hello, I was thinking to gave me a present, and I saw a tektronix 3032 with no options, 2channel, 300Mhz 2.5G/s at 500 buck, my rigol is a good unit..but is only 100Mhz, and with a slow sample rate, and this oscilloscope seems pretty good for the budget, I need of a 200Mhz 2G/s oscilloscope, and this seems a good unit for the price

If it comes with a serial, gpib, or network interface it's trivial to upgrade it to a 3052 500 MHz / 5 Gs/s scope.   There's a thread on the forum giving details.

If you have one of the application modules, you can also enable all options by re-writing the serial EEPROM on the module.  Another forum thread give the details.

Oh, that sound very good! How about construction, shielding, reliability?

And can you link me the treads please? I don't find anything

The bandwidth hack is discussed here:
https://www.eevblog.com/forum/testgear/tds-1000-2000-3000-bw-hack/

For the options upgrade search for TDS3UAM and TDS3ENG.  I think the TDS3ENG enables one more option than TDS3UAM.  I think my scope came with the TDS3UAM hack.
