Tektronix 453 High Voltage Transformer
Douglasfir:
Hey everyone, i'm looking for a high voltage transformer for a tektronix 453. After troubleshooting mine appears to fairly quickly increase in current draw which blows the fuse (F937). Does anyone happen to have one or know of a source for one? Thanks so much!

Welcome to the forum.
Presume you mean T930 on P210 of the SM.

Q930 switches the primary supply and if the oscillator circuit is not working correctly the fuse F937 will protect the transformer.
You have a short time to capture any oscillation with another storage scope however presume it's not working as it should and test all componentry meets their correct values.

Make sure to rule out other less serious causes before blaming the transformer. Some good starting points for troubleshooting are in Jerry Massengale's (RIP) thread: https://groups.io/g/TekScopes/topic/7643060
If you are convinced the transformer is indeed bad, the best option may be to rewind it as any OEM replacement new or used would be on borrowed time as well. Apparently it's plagued by the same epoxy issue the 547 is known for, and unlike the 547, there were no replacements made. Dave Wise has posted a detailed guide how to do it successfully with minimal tools: https://www.antiqueradios.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=2475599#p2475599

Why I like the old Tektronix. The information is available.
Douglasfir:
There's no way I could ever possibly rewind this transformer. sigh. unless someone can do it for me and i can pay them, i guess the unit is going to the scrap heap.
