Robrenz's Kelvin clip video - question
« on: May 15, 2016, 01:36:13 pm »
I have seen robrenz's video, where He did showed this "kelvin clip". I tried to search on google for this, but I was unable to find the clip He used (or similiar)

The picture of the clip from robrenz's video:

And a closeup also from the same video:

Robrenz's video:

The clip is shown from 1:12-

I remember I did saw this on ebay, but of course now I am unable to find it anywhere (as I do not know the proper name for this).

Thanks ahead for the tips ahead :)

I'm not clear on you question , if I remember correctly , it may have taken a couple of videos for him to complete those " custom made " , I think he started out with Pomona parts and machined the parts from Pomona to get what it shows in video .
He hangs out here sometimes and contributes .
He does respond to questions on Youtube , he hadn't been doing much on Youtube for some time , but returned with more just recently .

These are not the clips He made by Himself, that is later shown in the video, this is at the videos begining part (as I wrote, from 1:12-) where He shows what possibilities are on the market to make the kelvin connection, and amoung those alternatives, the one shown on the above pictures is one of them. I want to buy one of this, but I do not know the exact name of the shown clip, that is why I am asking here.

(I hope it is understandable now what I am asking, looking for ... sorry, English is not my motherlanguage).

I bought these clips from him and as far as I know, he made them himself.
They are working perfectly with my micro ohm meter

Sorry guys, we are talking of 2 different thing here!

I do understand that rebrenz did made Kelvin clips himself, that is fantastic, and if I could buy one, I would without hesitation buy one. No question here.

BUT!

The one that is at the begining of His video (see the video above) He shows the possibilities that is on the market (pros, cons) and from there on He moves and He shows how He did made His own clips.

As I can not put my hand on His own made clips (as it can not be bought) what I can do is to choose from the possibilities that can be bought on the net ... and the one He shows (see the 2 pictures above in my first post) is something that can be bought ... but I do not know the exact name of that clip (He says the name in the video, but as I wrote English is not my mother language, I can not understand well the exact name of the clip He used there ... maybe, or for sure some of you guys has the English language as your mother language, please write me down the name of the clip He mentions in His Video. The part where He is talking about this clip is from 1:12 minutes)

Thanks!

By chance, are you looking for the Mueller BU-75K Kelvin clip? I think that is one of the clips that Robrenz used in his video.

Nope, that is not the Mueller Clip, I know that, but the Mueller clip is not the one that is shown in my first post on the firstr and the second picture.

BTW, the clip robrenz did by himself has just 1 J Hook, that is His speciality, that is the unique thing about His clip. The one that is in His video, and also that I potted the 2 pictures has 2 J Hook and that makes the kelvin connection (2 Hooks in 1 clip, 2 Hooks on the other clip).

Sorry, but from the video I did not get this.

The Clip I am looking for is NOT mad by Robrenz, He mentions that it is a Pamona clip ... the leads are true made by Robrenz on that particular item.

Later in the video, Robrenz shows how he made his own clip, and the complete Kelvin leads, that is true, but for that the base is not this dual hook clip, but a simple hook clip!

The "Siamese" Pomona clips shown above in the beginning of the video are also something I made from standard Pomona clips. They were made by sanding off part of each clip to form the joint and glueing them together and putting a piece of glue lined heat shrink over the body.  A fairly easy DIY project.

Sorry guys, we are talking of 2 different thing here!

I don't think so
As I said in my previous post, I bought these clips that you show in the first picture from Robrenz
Here are some pictures of it, that I just took right now.

Isn't this what you are looking for?
These are Pomona clips, modifier by Robrenz as far as I know and then glued together

Thanks again to robrenz for making these awesome clips, I am using them on a regular basis.

Many thanks ... exactly this is what I was looking for!

But then as now I see, these are also not standard clips, these are also modified clips.

I do not know than what I saw at ebay, very similiar to this concept, I remember I even opened the page of that seller ... but it was like 1 mounth ago or so, and of course I forgot to bookmark that, and now I am googling like for hours to get to those (until now in vain :( )

Oh, anyway, now I know this is not a standard clip then ... unfortunately.

If anyone knows a source for this, one that is in standard production, plese post it here.

It seems now nothing left than to buy 4 grabber and use them together for the LCR meter I have (Der EE DE-5000).

Just do what Rob did and sand down a pair of Pomona clips and glue + heatshrink them together. It's not rocket science. (His other ones on the other hand....)
