This topic will no longer be active. It has come to a final conclusion!!! Thanks everyone for your valuable input!!! |

I wouldn't remove the topic. The advice given here is just as sound for someone else who might encounter a similar issue down the line. It's great stuff, and it would be a shame for it to disappear just because this particular repair attempt didn't have a good outcome. |

OK, I will take your advice and leave it up. The Old64goat wants everyone to know he " sure does appreciate everyone helping him out". He wishes "all the best" for everyone here!!! |

--- Quote from: oldway on May 15, 2017, 07:44:03 am ---Sorry that my post caused such a reaction .... but there was perhaps a mistake from the beginning .... Old64goat should have been advised not to attempt this reparation. --- End quote --- The first paragraph of my first post had such a warning but maybe I was not emphatic enough. --- Quote ---I think that even if he was not handicapped, he would really have great difficulties to repair this oscilloscope ... then I understand that he wants to make his blindness responsible for his difficulties, but it is not. --- End quote --- There were a lot of suggested simplified non-destructive tests which he did not follow through on that might have revealed the problem. The communications channel was pretty indirect so maybe he never saw them. |
